Wagering Made Simple- Part 2

Another aspect of wagering is making sure you don’t play games with bad odds to them. Not all games at the casino are built alike and some naturally come with better payout odds than others. For example, if you look at the slots in one parlor you are going to find a variety of them with different payout percentages. The payout percentage tells you the odds of the machine “hitting”, or paying out. If a machine has a payout percentage of 93% that means that for the entire lifespan of the game it is going to payout 93-cents for every dollar that is wagered on it. On the other hand if a machine has a payout percentage of 97%, then it means the machine will payout 95-cents for every dollar wagered on it. This is something that you can strategically do- pick the machines with the highest payout rates to work with. Though it doesn’t sound like much, those few percentage points are going to help you to increase your chances of a win considerably. This comes with one caution though. Never think that you are going to get that amount of cents back on your dollar. Remember that payout percentages are applicable to the entire lifespan of the machine. A 95% payout means that from the time it starts running to the time it is taken out of commission it will payout that much…not for any single gaming session.

Finally, when wagering, be sure that you have a clear head. There is also a reason why casinos offer you free alcohol when you are gambling. They know that if they can get you to lose some of your logic skill, they likely can earn that much more. There are a lot of things a person who is even slightly drunk will do that they wouldn’t normally do if they weren’t. This is also where you have to limit yourself to stay clear-headed. You want to protect your bankroll at all costs and alcohol isn’t going to help you do it! Wagering isn’t hard IF you make sure you have the proper limits and stick to them despite the temptations not to. Remember to set your bankroll limits before you even get in your car to go to the casino! This is the only way you are going to have a good gaming session and not lose too much throughout the process.
